Last week seemed like a gift to anyone who is committed to increasing racial diversity in our workplaces and schools.
In a crushing blow to affirmative action in college admissions, the US Supreme Court upheld Michigan's ballot initiative which bans racial preferences. (I wonder if the Justices know about--and could be moved by--the
"I Too Am" campaign that is sprouting up on college campuses.)
By the end of the week, a deluge of discriminatory blunders--from Cliven Bundy to the Clippers' owner--demonstrated why programs that spur racial equality still matter.
